POSTED September 1, 2009 10:51 p.m.
A man who was robbed at a Turlock convenience store was shot at multiple times when he gave chase in his car after the suspects, according to the Turlock Police Department.
The victim was not injured during the chase and the shooting. His car did have two shot out tires and damage to the gas tank, said Lt. Ron Reid.
The robbery occurred around 5:30 p.m. Monday outside the AM PM store at 101 E. Glenwood. The victim was walking up to the store with his cash in hand, when the robber ran up and grabbed it, Reid said.
The suspect jumped through the open back window of a waiting car, and the robber and the driver sped off.
The victim ran to his own car and chased after them until one started shooting at him, Reid said.
Both suspects were described as black males about 26 years old. One was around 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 190 pounds with dread locks. The driver was about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 140 pounds with short cropped curly hair.
The vehicle they left in was a tan colored Honda Accord or Civic.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the police department at 668-5550 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
