It wasn’t difficult to predict this outcome.

The Turlock High girls tennis team added another Central California Conference title to the program’s championship banner with another undefeated season. In netting seven of their nine matches over crosstown rival Pitman High on a warm Thursday afternoon, the Bulldogs finished the regular season at 10-0.

Turlock has won the past five league titles while compiling a 44-0 record in the last four seasons, according to past Journal reports.

On Thursday, Turlock’s singles players No. 2 through No. 5 of Natalia Lima, Taylor Olson, Camille Stiles and Katrina Santiago finished with two-set wins. The duos of Jenna Anderson and Nina Thompson-Sargoni and Lauren Carlson and Madeline Hillis also won in two straight sets, respectively, while No. 2 doubles of Ana Vis and Kayla Machado had a thrilling match to beat Pitman’s Mackenzie Nordahl and Barbara Beasley in three sets, 7-5, 6-3, 10-7.

Pitman, which finished with an impressive league record of 7-3, got two singles wins from No. 1 Britney Leon and No. 6 Julia Harris.

Both Pitman and Turlock will now move on to the postseason. First is the league’s singles and doubles tournaments at Millennium Sports Club on Tuesday and Thursday of next week.

And then, the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Tournament will start Oct. 31, with the bracket yet to be determined.
