Parolee held for burglary

POSTED September 29, 2009 10:43 p.m.
A parolee strapped with a tracking device on his ankle was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglary after a silent alarm was triggered at a Turlock business.
Raymond Coronado, 45, of Turlock was initially charged with a parole violation for failing to register as a sex offender and burglary. Later, he was charged with possession of stolen property when some of the property he had on him was reported stolen as well, said Turlock Police Lt. Ron Reid.
Around 2:45 a.m. Monday, police were responding to a silent burglar alarm at Geoanalytical Laboratories in the 2300 block of Maryann Drive. When they arrived they saw two suspects running toward John B. Allard School. The officers caught one suspect, later identified as Coronado. The other suspect got away.
Reid said Coronado was in possession of several intricate computer components and other property at the time of his arrest. As the day progressed, the police department received more reports of burglaries in the same area and the victims identified the property found with Coronado as that stolen from their vehicles.
The estimated value of the property was well into the thousands of dollars, Reid said.
