Spring break has finally arrived for local students — offering a short reprieve from school work and ample time to catch up on a little fun.

Participants at the City of Turlock’s Recreation Spring Break Camp are spending the week doing arts and crafts, playing group games and just hanging out with friends. This year there are more than 40 children registered.

Others having been taking advantage of the warm — and as of yet, rain-free weather — to play in local parks.

Logan Mejorado of Turlock Junior High School got some serious air during a hands-free jump at the City of Turlock Skate Park, which is often used by BMX riders. Logan and his friend Chris Dunn from Keys to Learning Charter often come to the park during breaks from school.
