When 2003 Turlock High graduate Joana Morris attended a career fair at as a high school student she never imagined she would land a job with Bank of America. Just a senior in high school at the time she was hired on the spot as a bank teller. Now, nearly a decade later, she is an accounts manager with B of A.
On Wednesday she represented her employer to fresh-faced and eager students looking for a shot at a job during the second annual Pitman High School Career Fair.
Anna Eshoo, a PHS business teacher and Future Business Leaders of America co-advisor, organized the career fair in 2003 at TJHS. Now at Pitman she asked Morris to attend, along with more than 20 other businesses, colleges and agencies.
“This is about giving the kids the opportunity to see what’s out there, not only for seniors who may be looking for jobs, but also for freshman — just to get them thinking about what careers for jobs they may want to explore,” said Eshoo.
