Sacred Heart to host festival

Sacred Heart Catholic Church will host a festival on Saturday and Sunday in an effort to bring the parish’s English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking members together for one event.

The festival will begin with an outdoor tri-lingual Mass at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the church, located at 1225 Cooper Ave., Turlock. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday a free concert will be held featuring Kerigma and Christian rock band La Ley de Dios from Stockton.

On Sunday, there will be an outdoor bilingual Mass at 7:30 a.m., followed by a performance from the Portuguese Group As Violas da Casa dos Azores and Fados with Os Rouxinois.

Sacred Heart School put on a talent show from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mariachi will perform from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a production from Fantazia Dance. Lifeteen Band O.L.A. will take the stage from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by soloist singer Vanessa Valencia in the gym from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Skaamen will perform from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Nata 2 from 4:35 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and the event will end with a raffle and closing prayers from Pastor Rev. Mark Wagner.
