The Modesto Police Department has identified the man shot to death in a Modesto apartment, while continuing to seek a suspect.
The victim was identified as Ramon Rivera Villanueva, 26, of Los Angeles. Villanueva was found shot to death Oct. 10 at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Sutter Avenue in west Modesto.
Officers responded to the apartment complex just after 9 a.m. after getting reports of shots fired. Villanueva was found deceased inside one of the apartments, Sgt. Brian Findlen said.
The investigation is on-going. No arrests have been made and detectives continue to follow-up on leads in this case. Detectives do not believe this is a gang-related homicide, Findlen said.
