After opening the year with a 2-0 record, the Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer team will begin the season ranked No. 5 in the region.
The first regular season NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II polls were released and Cal State Stanislaus is the top CCAA team in the West Region.
Seattle Pacific and Simon Fraser of the GNAC have the top two spots, followed by two PacWest programs. Three other CCAA teams are in the top 10 including the Warriors' opponent on Sunday, No. 7 Cal State L.A.
Cal State Stanislaus has opened the season undefeated after the first two contests in each of the four seasons since head coach Dana Taylor's arrival in 2009.
The Warriors open CCAA play on Friday at 4:30 p.m. when they host Cal State Dominguez Hills.
