“Jessica” DeCoursey, 86 of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Oct. 25.
She was born in Dewar, OK. to Robert and Mary Smith. She attended school in Holdenville, OK. before moving to California in the 60s. She loved the mountains and fishing, she loved friends and family, and enjoyed entertaining. Jessica was a great cook and was especially gifted at canning, quilting, and other domestic skills.
Jessica is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Jim) Chapman of Turlock, Shelley (Bill) Davies of Bakersfield, and sons Leo (Wanda Sue) Hudson, and Carl Brent (Debbie) Howard, both of Bakersfield; a sister Lucille Livesay of Dewar OK; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many relatives in Oklahoma. She was predeceased by a daughter Mavis Mitchell.
