Arlindo Gomes Avila, 50, of Ceres, died Oct. 29 at his residence in Ceres. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel Service, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. A mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at Whitehurst, Norton, & Dias. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Arlindo was born in January 1959 in Portal, Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, Azores. He was a dairyman for 20 years and a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents, Antonio and Maria Avila of Ceres; son, Pedro Avila; daughters, Cindy Avila of Turlock and Mendy Avila of Hilmar; brother, Eduardo Avila of Sao Jorge, Azores; sisters, Laudelina Brasil of Sao Jorge, Zelia Gomes, Filomena Oliveira and Diodete Vieria, all of Sao Jorge, and Beatris Oliveira of Merced; and three grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias.
