Arby Eugene Harry Jr. was born in Tulsa, OK., on December 14, 1938 to parents Arby Eugene Sr. and Virginia Harry.  Arby was a student at Modesto Seventh Day Adventist Academy and transferred to Turlock High his senior year where he sang in several assemblies and graduated in 1957.  He was loved by many throughout his life for his witty humor and was widely known for his singing and playing guitar. Arby won 1st place in the Modesto Union Adventist Academy Talent Competition making him Guest of Honor his senior year at the Modesto Academy Banquet.  Arby served in the Army, based in San Francisco Presidio.  He was married to Verla Smith and they shared two daughters, Brenda and Cynthia.
Arby was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling and singing for many years with his family at various churches, events, and venues.  He sang on the radio, was a featured soloist and led guitar on the album, “God is Not Dead.”  Arby was actively involved with his local band that performed at the “Village Donut Shop” in Turlock, CA. and played with 501 Jam in Modesto.  He worked as a Car Inspector for Western Pacific Railroad in Elko, Nevada, returning to California where he retired as an Engineer from M&ET Railroad after 17 years.  Married to Bette Yerby on Thanksgiving Day 2008 at a family ceremony, he leaves behind his beloved wife Bette (Nordell-Yerby) Harry, his two daughters Brenda Lynn (Harry) Ribeiro, and Cynthia Renee’ (Harry) Clark as well as his stepson, Craig Yerby and stepdaughter, Heather Breeding.  His granddaughters Bryanna Spicer, Charisa McGee, Christina Clawson, and Heather King, three great-grandchildren Christian & Gavin Spicer, and Lily McGee.
He also leaves behind his two brothers William Harry of OK, and Larry Harry of Delhi, CA, and his sister Rena Wine of Merced, CA.  Arby was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Todd-Harry) Inman, his father, Arby E. Harry Sr., and his sister Regina (Harry) Hibdon.  Arby loved the Lord & the Word of God with all his heart and is now in the presence of Jesus and loved ones who went before him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 700 E Monte Vista Blvd, Turlock on Sat, Jan 26th at 3:00 pm. Private burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
