TUSD hosts IEP information sessions

POSTED March 22, 2013 1:09 p.m.

The Turlock Unified School District is reaching out to district parents and guardians who may have questions about the Individualized Education Program process. The district is hosting a free class that will include an overview of the IEP process, effective ways to work  as part of the IEP team and will provide an opportunity to have questions answered.

"This is a great opportunity for parents in [the] community to become better informed about their rights and also be armed with information to help them," said Matthew Devins, TUSD program specialist.

There will be two sessions of the IEP class offered, both held Tuesday. The first session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Professional and Development Center at eCademy, corner of Marshall and Crane. The second  session will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the TUSD District Office, Rooms WW5 and WW7, 1574 E. Canal Dr. Both sessions will include the same information. Food and snacks will be provided. Child care will be provided only for the evening session. A Spanish translator can also be available, with prior notice.

The district requests parents and guardians call to reserve space for one of the sessions at 667-8519.
