Stanislaus baseball drops series to No. 13 Chico State

Andrew Graves had three hits in the Warriors' best offensive game of the season but the Cal State Stanislaus baseball team fell to No. 13 Chico State, 9-5, in the series finale on Sunday.
The Warriors, losers of five straight, fell to 7-24 overall and 4-20 in CCAA play after the series sweep. Cal State Stanislaus scattered a season-high 14 hits and out-hit the Wildcats. Chico State improved to 19-5, 12-4 CCAA.
The first three batters in the Stanislaus batting order went 6-for-13 and scored four times as Ross Gonsalves, Justin Charles and Craig Beevers each had two hits. Graves, batted sixth in the lineup, was 3-for-4 and drove in three scores. Graves' big hit came in the sixth - a two-out, two-run single to make it 7-3.
Cal State Stanislaus put together three singles in the eighth for another run and Beevers' sac fly scored Klayton Millerin the ninth. Miller also had two hits.
The Warriors will have the much-need time off from competition next weekend before hosting Cal Poly Pomona April 5-7.
