Turlock High School students continued to raise the bar in academics when they took 2nd place at Math Field Day held at California State University, Fresno.

“This was our first time competing at this competition. I am so proud of our students,” said THS math teacher Kathlyn Donaldson. “It’s difficult going to a competition for the first time because you don’t know what to expect. I would like to thank the parents for their encouragement and support in both math competitions.”

Math Field Day consisted of three events: an individual competition called the Mad Hatter, one test for 9th and 10th graders, and a separate test for 11th and 12th graders. Other events included the partner competition called Leap Frog and the Game tournament where students of any grade could compete.

“I really liked this competition,” said THS student Tonya Pruitt. “It’s so different from other competitions.”
