Filing period upcoming for November elections

POSTED July 5, 2013 10:30 p.m.

Although November is still five months away, election season is underway.

Candidates interested in running for local office during the Nov. 5 Consolidated District Election can apply during the filing period, which will run from July 15 to Aug. 9. Candidates, including incumbents, must file nomination documents during this period in order to run for office and appear on the ballot.

Six local school districts — including Turlock Unified — have seats up for grabs this November.  Three director positions for the Turlock Irrigation District — from Divisions 2, 3, and 5 — will also be on the ballot.

Residents of Denair and Keyes will be voting for representatives to both their respective Community Services District Boards and Municipal Advisory Councils.
