POSTED July 16, 2013 5:36 p.m.

The Turlock Seadogs summer swimming program is now 7-0 after a dominant performance at Turlock High on Saturday over the Oakdale swim team in a dual match. The Seadogs beat Oakdale by over 1,200 points.

“I am very proud of the fact that we are 7-0. They persevered through everything. We cannot emphasize enough about their hard work and dedication,” Seadogs coach Erich Richter said of his swimmers.

Out of 102 events, the Seadogs nabbed over 90 first place finishes.

“Oakdale is an up and coming team. They are starting young. I mean they put up a great performance, but we earned every point we got,” Richter said.

For the girls, Emma Burke took nearly five seconds off her time from the previous meet in the 50 yard back placing first with a final time of 31.78. After finishing second in the 50 free in the last meet, Burke came in  first with a time of 26.87. In the 100 IM, Burke grabbed first place with a time of 1:10.63.

“Emma said she wanted to try something different, not expecting to take off much time, but it was a huge improvement and that is awesome,” Richter said.

Sierra Yandell tallied three first place finishes in the 50 free, 50 breast and the 100 free. Sarah Phillips secured five first place finishes in the 50 breast, 50 free, 100 IM, 200 free relay and the 200 medley relay.

On the boys side, Stash Perry secured four first place finishes in the 100 free, 50 back, 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Zach Glidden seized first in the 50 free, the 200 freestyle relay team and also the 200 medley relay, along with a third place finish in the 100 butterfly.

Blake Phillips, also part of the 200 free and 200 medley teams that placed first, finished first in the 50 and 100 free, including the 100 IM.

The league championship is Saturday at Lathrop High with a time yet to be announced.

“It’s kind of a big invitational,” Richter said.
