Welcome Back Week at CSU Stanislaus

The Associated Student Incorporated programmed division at CSU Stanislaus is putting the final touches on its Back to School activities set to start Aug. 26.

Taylor Scott, interim programming advisor on campus, said all the events planned are designed to help new and old students ease into the semester all while helping them find some “Warrior pride.”

“Our main goal is to promote school pride,” said Scott. “We’re just trying to put on a full week of events that were bigger and better than last year.”

So for incoming students who will be calling CSU Stanislaus their home come next week, here’s what you can expect:


Monday, August 26 -

“Open House: Union Building”

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 A full tour of the campus' Union Building that is catered to let students know about the different services the Union offers, The event will also help students get familiarized with the governing board of the building, the USU Board of Directors.


Tuesday, August 27,

“FB Campaign”

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 ASI programming will trying get students to 'like' the Facebook pages so they can be kept up-to-date on different events and information on ASI/USU. The event is designed to help students connect with the programming board via social networking. There will also be a raffle for a new iPod Mini.


Wednesday, August 28,

 “Rep Your Pride”

10 a.m. to 2 .pm.

ASI programming is urging students to come to the campus' quad and represent their pride. Students will have a chance to enter a raffle, eat free food, and decorate a bandana.


4 p.m. to 7 p.m.


The dorm resident only event will be showcasing services and activities offered by Code Red Entertainment, the school's specialized programming group. Along with a information session of Code Red, dorm residents will be able to participate in games, eat free food and participate in a night of overall fun.


7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 “Night of Comedy”


Students can enjoy a night of laughs with local standup comedian Kabir Singh. The event will be held in the campus’ event  center.



 Thursday, August 29.

“Get Involved Day”

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This informational session will present the necessary tools for students looking to get involved in campus and student government affairs.


Friday, August 30

”Warriors Up at Night”

8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

In a joint collaboration, the student union, recreation center and other campus organizations will host an all night event of games, food and activities. The event will be held in the campus gymnasium.
