With over 40 people in attendance Friday, Cimarron Park was officially renamed as the Dale Pinkney Park in honor of Pinkney’s support and service to the City of Turlock.
Pinkney served on the Turlock Planning Commission from 1968 to 1970, the Turlock City Council from 1970 to 1978 and served as the mayor from 1978 to 1982. He was also part of the Turlock Lions Club for 20 years and helped build what is now Atch Pedretti Park. Pinkney received a proclamation from Mayor John Lazar for his “dedication and perseverance.” He also received a resolution from the State of California presented by Assemblyman Bill Berryhill. Dale Pinkney Park is located in the northeast part of Turlock on Cherry Blossom Lane and Arthur Mace Drive.
