New sentence for district attorney’s son

POSTED December 4, 2009 11:43 p.m.
Dylan Morse, the son of Merced County District Attorney Larry Morse II, was given a new sentence of three years and four months for a felony drunk driving conviction in Sonoma County, according to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.
Morse was originally sentenced to 12 years and four months in prison for a drunk driving accident that claimed the life of one man, left another in a persistent coma, and injured one woman.
Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Kenneth Gnoss recalled the sentence in October. In changing the sentence, Gnoss said he took into consideration Morse’s young age and lack of a criminal history.
