Warriors snap skid with victory over Toros

Behind their best offensive performance, statistically, the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors snapped a five-match skid with a three-set win over Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday night inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
Cal State Stanislaus improved to 5-12 overall and 2-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. As a group, the Warriors posted a season-best .278 attacking percentage.
Blair Ehrlich nailed a career-best .310 performance on the night with 12 kills on 29 attempts with just three errors. Jocelyn Cervantes had 10 kills (31 attempts and two errors for .258) and Paige Walker put-away five (.278). Taylor Massengale got into the act as well with four kills (.429).
In the first set, the Toros yielded 12 points to the Warriors on service errors with six and six hitting errors to help Stanislaus win 25-22. The Warriors then used the momentum to its advantage controlling the pace of the match the rest of the night.
Defensively, the Warriors only needed 38 digs for the win with Ehrlich picking up 11 and Sarah Crowl 10. At the net, Jordan Harris led the way with four block assists for 10 total by CSUS. Setter Hannah Green had 27 assists to go with her three service aces.
The Toros (8-8, 1-7 CCAA) were led by Elizabeth Krieger with 13 kills. Their team-leader Alijah Gunsaulus had eight kills. CSUDH posted a .206 percentage and Hillary Domecus led with 11 digs.
The win was the Warriors' fifth out of the last six meetings against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
