Grewal ready for third term on Keyes MAC

Only one member’s term is expiring this year on the Keyes Municipal Advisory Council, and he is ready to serve for another four years.

In his third 4-year term, Dr. Harinder Grewal will run opposed in the Keyes Municipal Advisory Council this November. Grewal also currently serves on the Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Grewal has a master's degree and Ph.D. in agricultural economics and a masters of business administration. He is the senior agricultural weights and measurements inspector with the Stanislaus County Department of Agriculture, and has served as the director of the Keyes Community Service District.

Additionally, Grewal has served as a chairman on the Modesto City Equal Opportunity Commission, a treasurer of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees – Local 10, and was a two-term president of the California Association of Standards and Agricultural Professionals. He also currently serves on the Stanislaus County Fair Board of Directors.

His wife, Baljeet, has been a nursing assistant for over 20 years. Together they have two children, Love and Arjun.

The Keyes MAC currently consists of four members – William Henry Alexander, Davie Landers Jr., Jeff Reed, and Harinder Grewal. A vacant seat on the board also remains.

Members of the council advise the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors on matters of public health, safety, welfare, public works and planning which are or may be provided to the area.

 The Keyes MAC meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Keyes Community Services District Office.
