Turlock Christian High’s boys basketball team cruised to its fifth pre-league victory Wednesday night with a lopsided 95-49 defeat of Stone Ridge Christian High at home.

The Eagles needed only one period with its starters before handing the reigns over to the bench who took advantage of the Knights and used the minutes on the court to improve overall team play.

“We’re playing at the level we want to play, but we still have things we need to improve on. We’re headed in the right direction,” head coach Eddie Sai said. “We played well defensively, and offensively we shot the ball well.”

Senior Seth Retemeyer finished the night with 20 points while junior Logan Lundquist nabbed a total of 13 rebounds and three steals. But numbers aside, junior Egan Farrar had a productive night both on the boards with four rebounds and in his teammate’s ears on the court.

“His rebounding and leadership, he’s really been playing well,” Sai said of Farrar.

TC led 53-30 by halftime, but it was the fourth period that showed the Eagles’ true dominance as Stone Ridge was held to only six points.

“They pressed the whole time. They’re a solid team; they’ve just come up short this year,” Sai said. “And we were just on.”

TC now takes its 5-1 record up against Orestimba High today in another home game where the Warriors are expected to give the Eagles more of a challenge.

“They match up pretty well; a lot better size wise,” Sai said.
