POSTED January 28, 2014 5:36 p.m.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred at the Turlock Flea Market.

At 12:41 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Turlock Flea market on East Avenue for the report of a stabbing.

The male victim was assaulted by four to five Hispanic men and then stabbed. He sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported to Memorial Medical Center, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Keith Rakoncza said.

The suspects all fled the area and no description was available.

Investigators were still trying to determine the motive behind the stabbing. It is unknown at this time if the attack is gang-related.
