Experts from the city, county, state and local university will address groundwater challenges currently facing the Turlock area on Tuesday, as part of a public forum cosponsored by the Turlock Chamber of Commerce and California State University, Stanislaus.

The public event will be held at CSU Stanislaus in the Mary Stuart Rogers building, with free parking available on campus. The forum will begin with a brief presentation from each of the five panelists, followed by a panel discussion on local groundwater issues. Following the discussion, a question-and-answer period will be held where audience members can ask any questions related to water concerns.

Discussing the groundwater challenges will be experts Horacio Ferriz, Professor of Geology at CSU Stanislaus, Michael Cooke, City of Turlock Municipal Services Director, Michael Frantz, Turlock Irrigation District Director, Wayne Zipser, Chair of the Stanislaus county Water Advisory Committee, and Dorene D’Adamo, State Water Resources Control Board member.

For those who cannot attend in person, the informational discussion will be live streamed through the University website, while also being archived online. Additionally, the forum will be broadcast live on television locally on Charter Channel 2 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.

The event will be held at CSU Stanislaus MSR Room 130, with free parking available in Parking Lot 11, and will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
