Home invaders attack Denair men

POSTED January 12, 2010 9:14 p.m.
Three men were bound, beaten, and robbed during a home invasion robbery in Denair Monday morning.
Two of the men had to be hospitalized because of the severity of the beatings, but none of the injuries were considered life threatening, said Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim David.
The incident was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Monday and occurred in the 5400 block of Montpelier Road at an almond processing facility.
One of the victims told the sheriff’s department that someone had knocked on the door of one of the trailers and that when he opened it, three men stormed into the trailer.
The suspects forced the man to lead them to another trailer where they tied up the three victims and beat them with weapons, David said.
The three suspects, who were described as wearing dark clothing, took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victims.
After the robbers left one of the men was able to free himself from his ties and left the trailer to get help. He walked a little over a mile to the next residence where the homeowner contacted the sheriff’s department.
When the deputies arrived the man led them back to other two men, who were still tied up inside a trailer.
One man had several lacerations and other injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical Center. Another had a head injury and was transported to Emanuel Medical Center. The third victim had a few minor injuries, David said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 525-7074 and ask for Sgt. Brandon Kiely.
