A Turlock woman was nabbed Sunday in a drug sting when she allegedly sold prescription medications to an undercover agent with her two young children in tow.

The Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team was conducting an investigation into the sales and trade of prescription medications in the area when they came into contact with Jennifer Wilkins, 33, of Turlock.

According to the Modesto Police Department, Wilkins agreed to sell her prescription medication for cash and other opiate-based medications and agreed to meet the buyer, who was an undercover agent, at an agreed upon time and place.

When Wilkins arrived to complete the deal she had her 3 and 8 year old children with her. The children waited in a car while Wilkins completed the transaction. At that point she was taken into custody. The children were taken into protective custody and released to a family member.

“These are the types of cases that can really frustrate you” said Sgt. Kelly Rea of MNET. “While we are glad to get a drug dealer off the street, we never want to see children exposed to this level of danger.”

Wilkins was booked into Stanislaus County Jail for  attempted possession of a controlled substance, sales of prescription medication, and felony child endangerment. She remains in custody on a $50,000 bail.
