Locals aren’t the only ones attending the Stanislaus County Fair for the “Carnival Eats” as the Food Network will be filming a new television show focusing on fair food for their fall lineup.

“We were notified last week of the great news,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for The Stanislaus County Fair. “This is a great opportunity for us to not only showcase the importance of fairs in California, but to highlight our great community in Stanislaus County and the mouth-watering food we have at the Fair.”

Hosted by Noah Cappe and produced by award-winning filmmaker James Hyslop, the new show "Carnival Eats” will feature the unique and delicious foods found at carnivals and fairs. While the featured local vendors have not been revealed, fair attendees can expect to see the television show host and camera crew perusing the fair food stalls on Saturday to shoot behind the scenes footage, speak with food vendors, and taste the carnival cuisine.

On Sunday, Cappe will spend further time exploring the Stanislaus County Fair by riding the mid-way attractions and checking out the livestock area.

“This is a great opportunity for us to not only represent Turlock but the entire Stanislaus County and what we have to offer our community on a national level,” said Alkhas.

“Carnival Eats” will premier on the Food Network in late August and feature two fairs in each episode with the Stanislaus County Fair being featured in late October.  The 2014 Stanislaus County Fair opens on Friday for its 10-day run.
