A Turlock man wanted in connection with a Modesto home invasion robbery was apprehended Thursday afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Richard White, 38, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals, which was assisted by the Turlock Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.

White had been named as a suspect by the Modesto Police Department for a home invasion robbery that occurred on July 28.

Law enforcement received information that White was at a residence in the 200 block of Flowerglen Avenue and surrounded the home around 3 p.m. Thursday.

White was ordered to surrender and he came out of the home without incident, according to the police department.

White is the second suspect taken into custody for the home invasion robbery. A third suspect remains at large.

Around 6:30 a.m. July 28, Maureen Buchanan, 31, allegedly let two men into a home she was visiting in the 2800 block of Stoneridge Drive in Modesto.

The two men were wearing masks and one was armed with a handgun, said Modesto Police spokesperson Heather Graves.

The suspects ransacked the victim’s home as they repeatedly asked for money. During the incident, the victim was hit in the head with the gun, Graves said.

One of the male suspects left the residence with Buchanan in the victim’s truck that he had parked in the garage. The other male suspect left in a 2000-2001 dark blue Chevrolet truck with a white camper shell.

Investigators were able to identify Buchanan as a suspect from a photo provided by the victim that an officer recognized. Following her arrest, the Modesto Police Department identified White and Daniel Reagan, 27, of Oakdale as the home invasion robbery suspects.

During the apprehension of White portions of Lander Avenue were blocked off and the air unit from the California Highway Patrol was called into service.

White is currently facing burglary charges in Stanislaus County for an unrelated incident. His last scheduled court appearance was at 8:30 a.m. July 28, the same day as the home invasion robbery. He also was on probation for a misdemeanor drug charge, according to court records.

Anyone with information on the case or the whereabouts of Reagan is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tipsters may also text information to Crime Stoppers at 274637. Just type “TIP704” along with the message.
