Margaret Vasconcellos, age 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Turlock on September 1st.

Margaret was born in Hollister, California to Joe and Mary Viera where she grew up with a loving family of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.  Margaret married Harry Vasconcellos in 1943 and moved to the Denair-Turlock area where she happily spent the rest of her life being a devoted and caring wife and mother.  Her life was her family and home she was able to spend her last 70 years at the home she and Harry bought when first married.

Margaret is predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry Vasconcellos, by her brothers, Joaquin Viera of Hayward and John Viera of Hollister; and sisters, Isabel Vasconcellos of Escalon, Helen Calabretta of Atascadero and Bernadette Taylor of San Jose.  Margaret is survived by her sister Lucy Bettencourt of Escalon.  Margaret is also survived by her daughters, Diane Vasconcellos of Turlock, Barbara Vieira (Tim) of Turlock, and son Steve Vasconcellos (Bobbie) of Twain Harte.  Margaret was blessed with 4 grandchildren:  Kristin Vieira, Robert Vieira, Derrick Marquis and Jennifer Carterette; and 10 beautiful great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the four Marias and Raina for providing constant, loving care to Margaret at home for the last 3 years.  The family also thanks Covenant Care Hospice and Covenant Care at Home for their kind support and service provided to Margaret.

A viewing will be held on September 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary, 247 North Broadway, Turlock.  A Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. will be held on September 10th at Sacred Heart Parish, 1301 Cooper Ave., Turlock. With burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
