Playing without Katie Busi for almost the entire second half, the short-handed Cal State Stanislaus women Warriors played inspired and pulled together for a come-from-behind 53-48 victory over San Francisco State. Alishea Kelly led the Warriors with 15 points and Christin Gowan had 10 as the Warriors improved to 5-11 overall and 4-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Despite 23 points and 15 rebounds from Donisha Tate, the San Francisco State Gators dropped to 8-12 overall and 4-8 in the CCAA. It was Tate's eight double-double of the season.
A few hours later, Dwight Jones of the Warriors’ men’s team scored a career high 19 points giving Stanislaus the spark it needed to get its offense back as the Warriors defeated San Francisco State, 63-59.
Jordan Stokes had 12 points and eight rebounds while Frank Monge led all players with 10 rebounds to go with his eight points as the Warriors snapped a two-game skid and offensive dry spill to improve to 9-8 overall and 5-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
San Francisco State, dropped to 13-7 and 6-6 in the CCAA, was led by Phoenix O'Rourke with 14 points.
