Carnegie to host pajama party and ‘Frozen’ song-along

POSTED December 10, 2015 2:24 p.m.

Sometimes the draw of a night of entertainment on the town can’t quite beat the lure of staying in and keeping toasty in a pair of pajamas. But now the Carnegie Arts Center is offering the best of both options with their Holiday Pajama Party and “Fozen” Sing-Along.

The event is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Carnegie as part of their Family Friday series. The party is free thanks to a sponsorship from Off Center Thrift and Gift. This is the fifth year the Carnegie has held a winter pajama party.

Families are invited to arrive in their pajamas and snuggle up in their blankets with their best stuffed buddies and watch the highly popular Disney movie “Frozen.” It’s a sing-along version, so anyone wanting to join in on “Let It Go,” “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” “In Summer” or any other one of the movie’s songs has free reign to belt one out.

“Family Friday events are always planned with creative and interactive components in mind; that’s why we chose the “sing along” version of the movie. The parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate along with the kids,” said Carnegie Director Lisa McDermott.

A party wouldn’t be much of a party without goodies to eat and refreshments. The Carnegie will be providing warm cocoa, cookies, and popcorn.

The doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Seating is first come first serve, but there is a lot of room on the floor for children.

“We expect a big turnout for this event — who doesn’t love the songs from ‘Frozen?’” McDermott said.
