Police seek shooting suspect

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Turlock man who is suspected of shooting someone while stealing a car early Friday morning.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Fuentes, 28, of Turlock, is wanted by the Turlock Police Department for assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied vehicle and for discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police responded to the 2600 block of Porsche Strasse at approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found an adult man who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, officers determined the victim was shot while he was driving a stolen car. Fuentes was also identified as the person responsible for the shooting.

Fuentes is still at large and the gun used in the shooting has not been recovered.

The Turlock Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance on the whereabouts of Fuentes. If Fuentes is located, do not approach or attempt contact, and call 9-1-1 as he is considered armed and dangerous.
