Police probe downtown Turlock robberies

POSTED June 13, 2017 9:32 p.m.

The Turlock Police Department is investigating two similar downtown armed robberies in which the targets were couples outside of local nightlife spots.

No injuries were reported in either robbery. In both cases the suspects were able to flee with undisclosed amounts of cash and personal property.

The first robbery was reported at 12:46 a.m. Sunday in the vicinity of Red Brick on S. Broadway. Two suspects, each armed with a handgun, approached a man and a woman sitting in a parked car and demanded they hand over their cash and property.

The couple complied and the two robbers fled the scene in a white Honda sedan, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Neil Cervenka.

The couple described the robbers as Hispanic male adults, possibly in their early 20s. Both were wearing hoodies.

The second robbery was reported at 12:04 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of W. Main Street, which is near The Udder Place.

Once again, a couple was targeted for the robbery. In this case, a lone suspect, armed with a handgun approached a man and a woman standing by their car. The robber took cash and property and fled the area in what was described as a white four-door sedan.

The robber was described as a Hispanic male adult in his early 20s.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call the Turlock Police Department’s tip line at 668-5550 ext. 6780 or email at TPDTipLine@turlock.ca.us.
