Ceres Police detectives are requesting the public's help in identifying the woman involved in attempting to cash a fraudulent check at the Bank of America at 2617 Mitchell Road in Ceres.

Police say the woman's July 25 attempt using another woman's identification was unsuccessful and that she stole another customer's set of keys from the bank counter. She then took the customer's vehicle and left the area. The vehicle was recovered in Turlock abandoned a short time later. A credit card that was in the stolen car was later used at the Target store in Turlock and a gas station in Manteca.

If apprehended she faces grand theft charges as well as attempting to fraudulently cash a check.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the woman is asked to contact Detective Trinidad Viramontes at 538-5730.
