POSTED October 20, 2017 9:00 p.m.

The Denair Gaslight Theatre is getting into the spirit of Halloween with their production of "Dracula of Transylvania," directed by Joshua Morriston.

"'Dracula of Transylvania' is no drawing room mystery a la Agatha Christie," Morriston stated in a news release. "It pulls from Bram Stoker's original novel all the gothic romance, the terror, the magic, and dark atmosphere inherent in the original story from the polite cobblestone streets of Victorian London to the wilds of the dangerous Carpathians in Romania.

"Adapted by award-winning playwright, Christofer Cook, this version made world history," Morriston continued. "It is the first and only stage treatment of the story written in collaboration with the Stoker family since 1927 when Bram's widow, Florence Balcombe gave her blessing to the Broadway production starring Bela Lugosi."

"Dracula of Transylvania" is written by Christofer Cook with advisement to the script by Dacre Stoker, the great, grand nephew of Bram Stoker.

The Gaslight's production of local talent will be backed up by special effect features and eeriely creative lighting and sound.

"Dracula of Transylvania"is currently playing and runs through Oct. 28. Friday and Saturday shows start at 7 p.m. and Sundays.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors. Guests can may reserve tickets by going to www.showtix4u.com or call 664-9514.
