Alice E. Bennett passed away peacefully at her home in Modesto, CA. She was 82. 

Alice was born July 19, 1935 in San Francisco, CA. where she grew up and graduated from Star of the Sea Catholic High School in 1953. She worked for The Hibernia Bank in San Francisco for several years before she married Bob Bennett, Sr. January 2, 1956 and they made Modesto their home in 1969.  After the move, Alice was a housewife and mother until 1977 when she returned to Bank of America where she retired from in 2005.

Alice was a joy to be around. She had a welcoming personality and was friends with every one she met. Alice loved her family and dear friends and enjoyed every moment that she spent with them. She loved everything about the Christmas season from her family coming together to share love and laughter, decorating the Christmas tree, to the delicious meals shared by all. Alice was very proud of her Irish heritage and had the privilege of traveling to Ireland where she met family and visited the family farm where her father grew up. After her husband Bob, Sr., passed way in 2005, Alice began attending Our Lady of Fatima with her good friends Mike and Diane.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, Sr.   Survived by her 4 children: Bob Bennett, Jr of Sonora, CA, Mary (Jeff) Tighe of Riverbank, CA, John Bennett of Riverbank, CA and Lorraine (Raymond) Eivazians of Turlock, CA.  9 Grandchildren: Christy Rathbun, Geneo Fowler, Mark Bennett, Matt Fowler, Michelle Bennett, Marisa Garza, Jennifer Fowler, Abbie Maravilla and Aimee Bennett and 9 great grandchildren. She was loved and honored by all of her nieces and nephews.  Alice was Grandma to the Place children, Bill, Katie and Sean, their grandmother passed away before they were born.  

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at 11am at Allen Mortuary. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial
