Police search for suspects in drive-by shooting

POSTED July 8, 2009 12:02 a.m.
The Turlock Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that left four bullet holes in an occupied car Sunday night.
The people sitting inside the car at the time of the shooting were not injured, Lt. Ron Reid said.
Just after 5 p.m. Sunday several calls came into police dispatch reporting shots fired in the 600 block of Vermont Avenue.
The callers reported a silver Chrysler 300 with four occupants inside the vehicle fleeing the scene of the shooting. One witness followed the car to try and get a license plate number, but lost sight of it, Reid said.
At the scene, police found a brown car with four bullet holes. Evidence was found at the scene and numerous witness statements were collected, Reid said. The investigation is ongoing.
