The people sitting inside the car at the time of the shooting were not injured, Lt. Ron Reid said.
Just after 5 p.m. Sunday several calls came into police dispatch reporting shots fired in the 600 block of Vermont Avenue.
The callers reported a silver Chrysler 300 with four occupants inside the vehicle fleeing the scene of the shooting. One witness followed the car to try and get a license plate number, but lost sight of it, Reid said.
At the scene, police found a brown car with four bullet holes. Evidence was found at the scene and numerous witness statements were collected, Reid said. The investigation is ongoing.
