Norman Ice

July 23, 1939 – April 24, 2010

Norman Ice

POSTED May 5, 2010 10:14 a.m.
Norman Ice passed peacefully on April 24 after a seven month long struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Norm was born on July 23, 1939, to Eldon and Edith, and was raised, along with his younger brother Gary, in San Jose.
After completing high school, he married young and had four children with his first wife, Laura.  Also, he was hired by PG&E, the same company his father worked for, and remained with them until retiring 16 years ago, putting in 30 plus years for the company.  He was a lifelong fisherman and sports enthusiast, finding his personal favorite sport in golf some 35 years ago. After retirement he became an enthusiastic sun/snowbird, RVing with his second wife, Joyce, up into Washington every summer and down into Arizona every fall.  Norm was a very responsible man and a true patriot to his country. But perhaps his biggest gift to the world was his sense of humor, never failing to bring a smile to all of our faces or to lighten up an awkward moment. He was a humble man who considered himself no better than anyone else, and to sing his praises would be to make him turn bright red. Should he be sitting up in heaven reading this, it should be known that this is not a list of praises but merely a telling of the truth.
Norman has left this world, but he leaves many, many happy memories with his surviving family members: his wife, Joyce; his children, Tammy, Becky, Greg and Chris; his stepchildren, Linda, Debbie and Diane; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Jared; and his step grandchildren, Jennifer, Jill, Kaylin and Danny.  He will be greatly missed.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society.
