Jose Maciel, 67, of Denair, died April 30 at Emanuel Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A Rosary/ Mass is scheduled for 9a.m. on Friday, May 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Jose was born in Rosais Vellas, Sao Jorge, Azores. He was a dairy milker for 33 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Maciel of Denair; sons, Jose Maciel, Manuel Maciel and his wife, Connie, Elvis Maciel and his wife, Misti, and Jerry Maciel, all of Denair; daughter, Maria Dias and her husband, Tony, of Denair; brother, Lasar Maciel of Sao Jorge; sister, Cora Silveira of Terceira; and seven grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias.
