Meth dump site set ablaze

A fire burning in Ballico was that of a methamphetamine lab dump site, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Department.

The dump site was near Bradbury Road and Cortez Avenue. The fire was reported around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputies found numerous items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine and suspect the fire was set to destroy evidence.

No suspects were apprehended.
