Selina Mae Winters

September 1917 – July 2010

POSTED August 3, 2010 10:51 p.m.
Selina Mae Winters was one of eight children born to Patrick and Elsie Tobin. She was born and raised in Newport, RI and moved to Turlock in 1955 to be near her family. She was employed for several years by International Paper Plant in Turlock and in Southern California. Selina, who was fondly called “Nana” by almost everyone who knew her, loved her family. She especially loved her great grandchildren, and she was a friend to everyone. She had a full life and her share of tragedies, but she was strong and always positive. Her sense of humor and her wonderful stories will be greatly missed.
She is survived by four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her only child, Judith Small; and grandchildren, Karen Nash and Craig Nash.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Allen Mortuary.
Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Foundation, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA or to Modesto Gospel Mission, 1400 Yosemite Blvd., Modesto, CA.
