Visitation for Luis Maldonado-Garcia, 16, of Winton, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22, with the rosary beginning at 5 p.m., at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. July 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Luis Maldonado-Garcia was fatally shot Wednesday.
Luis was born in Turlock to Julian Garcia and Martha Maldonado, and has resided in Winton for the last nine years. He was a current student at Atwater High, where he leaves behind many friends.
Luis was a young man with a wealth of potential and a promising life ahead of him. He had a wonderful since of humor and a great love for his family. He and his mother shared an amazing relationship, as well as his two brothers, whom he was very close to. Luis was a vibrant young man, with many friends, whom he enjoyed hanging out, playing basketball, and joking around with.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Martha Maldonado of Winton; and brothers, Fernando Garcia-Maldonado of Delano, Calif. and Alberto Garcia-Maldonado of Delhi, Calif.
