Kristine “Kris” Bowman was born May 24, 1967 in Bakersfield, Calif. and died Aug. 2, 2010 in Baltimore, Md. at the age of 43.
Kris was raised in Hilmar and went to Hilmar schools. She attended Holy Names University in Oakland and was striving to become a lawyer. She was a member of Girls Scouts and was a strong supporter of lesbian rights.
She is survived by mother, Tammy Bowman; brother, Kevin Bowman and his wife, Sidonie; and niece and nephew, Kaleigh and Matthew Bowman. She was preceded in death by father, Larry Bowman.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5 at Berea Lutheran Church on the corner of Bloss and Lander in Hilmar. Burial will follow at Hilmar North Cemetery.
