My paranormal experience

POSTED October 29, 2010 8:27 p.m.

On the night of Sept. 23, a friend and I drove to the Groveland Hotel to be part of a paranormal experience taking place there.  I was the winner of a contest in the Turlock Journal to be part of a paranormal investigation. I was shocked and very excited that I was one of two winners.

Now, I must say that I have never been a part of anything like this, therefore, who knew what would be taking place that night?  The hotel was closed allowing the professionals to do their searching while we tagged along.  The hotel is famous for Lyle, who is said to still walk the halls of the hotel, haunting anyone brave enough to stay in his room.

The night began after midnight and went well into the wee hours of the morning.  Although there was activity in one of the guest rooms and the basement, I did not see anything.  While we were searching the basement I was told an image was standing directly behind me and at the same time I got chills and felt goose bumpy up and down my arms.  “Yikes,” was my response when I was told.

When the experience ended there was a sense of excitement and people wondering whether or not anything was captured electronically or digitally.  I believe we all had a great experience that night and morning.  I wasn’t exactly a doubter when this experience began, but I came away believing in the possibility that the spirits walk amongst us.  If I were asked if I would participate in a paranormal experience again, my answer would be a definite “YES – when do we start.”

Thank you to Kristina Hacker and the Turlock Journal for giving me the opportunity to participate in the paranormal experience.
