Turlock High senior Spencer Jeske folds the colors during the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Pass in Review.

Turlock High’s Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps received high marks during their Pass in Review ceremony on Tuesday. Capt. Wencesalo gave the Turlock NJROTC 9 out of 10 for performance.

Rear Admiral Seward was the guest speaker at the ceremony and encouraged the young men and women of NJROTC to carry on the Navy values of honor, courage and commitment.

“These core values will ground you to yourself, your family and your country. You have chosen a path that the vast majority won’t and you have united yourself to your country. If you continue on to serve you will be the 1 percent who was willing to go anywhere, any place at anytime,” Seward said during his speech.

The ceremony was bittersweet, as the corps will lose a valuable asset when Chief Petty Officer (ret.) Yeoman Clifford T. Howe retires from his post-Navy career as a Naval Science Instructor at Turlock High.
