Geyser on Geer

Geyser on Geer

A fire hydrant sent gushes of water up more than 50 feet.

POSTED March 29, 2011 9:45 p.m.

A man driving a semi truck for Auto Zone clipped a fire hydrant while leaving the business Tuesday afternoon that created a geyser on Geer Road.

The fire hydrant sent gushes of water up more than 50 feet, striking the power lines above and causing localized flooding at the Quik Stop.

The owners of the Quik Stop said this is the third time the hydrant has been hit by a vehicle and caused flooding in the area.
