A Ceres woman that law enforcement said was shot by her boyfriend during an argument, died from her injury, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Teresa Rangel, 26, died on Friday from a single gunshot wound she suffered on March 21.

The shooting happened at a residence in the 4000 block of Warner Road that Rangel shared with her boyfriend, Robert Vanderheiden, 33, of Ceres.

Vanderheiden was previously booked at the Stanislaus County Men’s jail for attempted murder and domestic violence.  The Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office amended the charges on Vanderheiden from attempted murder to murder on Tuesday.
