Dirk and Stephanie Hernandez of Turlock are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Alisa Hernandez, to Douglas Newton Formby Jr., son of Douglas and Celeste Formby of Irvine.

The wedding date is set for Sept. 17 and will be held at Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock.

Heather graduated from Turlock High and attended U.C. Santa Barbara and CSU Eastbay where she obtained her B.A. in sociology. She is currently working on her special education credential and masters degree from Chapman University while working full time at Seneca Center in San Leandro as a mental health assistant.

Doug graduated from Northwood High in Irvine and obtained his B.A. in political science from U.C. Santa Barbara.  He is currently a regional analyst for Toyota Motor Sales in San Ramon. Doug and Heather met while attending U.C. Santa Barbara their freshman year of college.

Doug proposed to Heather while vacationing in Napa Valley in July 2010. The couple resides in San Ramon.
