The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Modesto homicide after fire fighters found a deceased man in a burned out home.

A suspect has been identified and the department is seeking the public’s help in locating him.

The deceased was identified by the sheriff’s department as Guadalupe Tubera, 31, of Modesto.

The suspect has been identified as Clint C. Wilson, 31, of Modesto. Wilson is wanted for murder. He is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 240 pounds and has multiple tattoos.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1700 block of John Street in west Modesto. Fire fighters discovered the body when they went into the home to battle the flames.

Initially, investigators were treating the discovery as a suspicious death, but it was reclassified as a homicide after an autopsy was completed, said sheriff spokesman Sgt. Keith Rakoncza.

Investigators have released few details about the murder, including any possible motive.

Anyone with information about the case or Wilson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Darwin Hatfield at 525-7100.
