Checkpoint set for Sunday

The Turlock Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Turlock on Sunday evening. This checkpoint is paid for through a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety. This grant pays for additional DUI and traffic enforcement.

The Turlock Police Department handed out their annual awards Friday morning, recognizing those officers and employees who have exhibited an exemplary year of service. The Employee of the Year award was given to Trish Panos; Officer of the Year was awarded to Sgt. Miguel Pacheco; Volunteer of the Year Rick Wallace; Excellence Award went to the Firearm Training team, consisting of: Lee Medlin, Brandon Bertram, Michael Parmley, Jesse Bawcum, Michael Stapler, Justin Williamson, Steve Crawford, Ian Rodriguez, and Al Updike; Two Distinguished Service awards were given to Detective Timothy Redd and Officer James Brewer.
